Everyday, we strive to be a progressive and environmentally-responsible company, from sourcing environmentally-responsible products to managing our own environmental impacts.

It was a pleasure to be involved with Australia’s most sustainable library and the nation’s first 6 Star Green Star rating for a public building, Library at the Dock in Melbourne.

Raeco is committed to minimising its impact on the environment and have established a range of Environmental Policies and is GECA certified.

The steel used in Raeco shelving is 100% recyclable and can be recycled an infinite amount of times, saving energy and raw materials each time it is re-processed as well as diverting the product from landfill.

GECA

GECA provides an independent tick that indicate products and services are better for the environment and reduce their impact on human health. Our shelving systems are GECA certified. Through our partnership with the GECA, we continue to develop and expand our range of products to provide you with greener choices.

ISO 14001

Raeco is certified to ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental Management Systems.
This international certification specifies the requirements for our environmental management systems.

ISO 14001 helps Raeco achieve the intended outcomes of its environmental management system, which provide value for the environment, the organization itself and interested parties.

The intended outcomes of our environmental management systems include:

  • Fulfilment of compliance obligations

    Raeco’s Sustainability Vision

    TO PROVIDE SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE SOLUTIONS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS AND OUR PEOPLE THROUGH THE PRODUCTS WE SOURCE AND THE WAY WE CHOOSE TO OPERATE, TO PROTECT OUR PLANET AND CARE FOR OUR COMMUNITY.

    Raeco’s sustainability initiatives include:

  • Recyclable packaging including the use of cartons with a recycled content
  • Recommending “repurposing” of packaging via school and library art programs
  • Direct freight shipments from manufacturer to customer whenever possible, reduces our carbon footprint, freight costs and lead times
  • In 2017, Raeco installed LED lighting throughout head office and warehouse. We also installed sensor hi-beam lights, which also contributes to our carbon footprint reduction
